On SorooshX, traders can choose between two distinct margin setups: Isolated Margin Mode and Cross Margin Mode. Each mode handles margin and available funds differently, giving traders flexibility in managing risk and optimizing their trading strategies.
In Isolated Margin Mode, the margin you assign is tied specifically to a single trading pair. This means the funds you commit to one position are kept separate from the rest of your Futures account balance.
For example, let’s say Trader X has 100 USDT in their Futures wallet and opens a long position on BTC/USDT using 10 USDT as margin. If that position gets liquidated, only the 10 USDT margin is lost—the remaining 90 USDT stays untouched.
If you want to increase or reduce the margin on an isolated position, you can do so manually by clicking the pencil icon next to the position. You can enter the desired margin amount or use the sliding bar to adjust it based on your available balance. There’s also an option to enable auto-add margin if you want the system to top it up automatically.
In Cross Margin Mode, all your available funds in the Futures account are pooled together to support all open positions. This approach allows profits from one trade to offset losses in another, reducing the likelihood of liquidation.
However, if the account’s total equity drops below the maintenance margin, all your funds—including position margins—are at risk of being liquidated. Keep in mind that Cross Margin Mode is the default setting when you open a new futures pair on SorooshX.
With Cross Margin, you don’t need to manually adjust margins, as long as your account has sufficient funds to cover all positions.
To switch between Isolated and Cross Margin Modes:
Also, the margin mode you select applies only to that specific contract. For example, you can trade BTC/USDT in Cross Margin Mode while using Isolated Margin Mode for ETH/USDT.
If you’re a copy trader, remember that you cannot automatically copy the margin mode used by the elite trader you’re following. You need to set your own margin mode in the Futures settings before starting copy trading.
