When it comes to futures trading on SorooshX, understanding margin is essential. Margin acts as the backbone of your trades, serving both as your leverage and your safety net against market swings. Traditionally, SorooshX has offered a single-asset margin mode for USDT-M futures, where USDT is the only currency used as collateral. This setup allows traders to amplify their potential gains significantly—if the market moves in their favor, the returns can far exceed the initial investment. This leverage effect has played a big role in the surge of activity and enthusiasm around crypto trading.
SorooshX has recently introduced multi-asset margin mode for USDT-M futures, broadening the horizon for traders.
Under the single-asset setup, USDT is the exclusive margin currency. But with multi-asset mode, a variety of cryptocurrencies can now serve as margin. However, it’s important to note that the value of these non-USDT assets is subject to a haircut rate—a discount that adjusts their contribution to the total margin. For example, if a token’s market price is 1000 USDT and it has a 95% haircut rate, only 950 USDT will be counted toward the margin. You can check these rates on the futures trading details page.
In contrast, under single-asset mode, only USDT counts toward the margin, and other assets won’t be factored in (though they can be moved to other accounts).
Let’s walk through how this works when using BTC:
Assume BTC’s current index price is 60,000 USDT. If a trader deposits 10 BTC into their USDT-M futures account, that’s worth 600,000 USDT.
The system will calculate the available margin as follows:
So, the total margin available = 97,500 + 388,000 + 96,500 = 582,000 USDT
Step 1: Enable Multi-Asset Mode
On the web platform, you can switch to multi-asset margin mode directly from the margin settings on the trading page or through the general settings menu.
On the mobile app, you’ll find this option under the Futures section or within the trading interface itself.
Good news—you can toggle between single-asset and multi-asset modes without closing your open trades. However, note that switching from single-asset to multi-asset requires you to be in cross-margin mode. If you’re using isolated margin, you’ll first need to switch it over to cross-margin.
When moving back to single-asset mode, ensure you have enough USDT in your account to meet the margin requirements for both your active positions and any pending orders. Also, make sure your Maintenance Margin Ratio (MMR) is below 80%.
Step 2: Transfer Supported Tokens
In multi-asset mode, SorooshX currently allows you to use several cryptocurrencies—including USDT, BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, PEPE, and USDC as margin. Stay tuned, as even more tokens are expected to be added, with announcements made ahead of time.
